Don't get me wrong....I am a Thai...and not trying to stir any fight here.
A little bit hurt watching the match...huh.....after 16 years history having a chance to support the national team in the final match of SEA Games and 36 years in semi-final round.
It seems that many thai fans will not watch this game live. I too, was hoping to see a rematch btw Vietnam and Thailand but unfortunately that won't happen at this seagames. I'm pretty sure we will see Thailand back on the final four again next seagames, for those die-hard fans, two years it's not long at all.
Human nature.....we want to beat the old champion. but the old champion, Thailand, poor performance and left the field too soon.....
so being the champion , but not Thailand on the final round, there will be something missing as if it is not the great victory.
I understand this way. Maybe right or wrong. But I believe every nations in Asia need to beat Thailand in Men Football. Especially on the Gold Medal match.
your comment makes sense perfectly. if the Viet team hasn't made to the final, a lot of Viet fans might "boycott" it as well because there's no incentive to watch it..... sportmanship is a form of diplomacy, and you know it diplomacy contains certain amount of hipocrisy
