I'm Thai but my ancester came from China. So I'm half-sib blood stay in Nongkai in childhood period of my life.
Everything depend on history. We should not study history for racism. But we should study history as a mirror for the future of our nations.
About emerald Buddha. Ok. One period of time ,the emerald buddha stay in Laos but how about before that?
As I remember : The emerald buddha create in Lampang (northern part of Thailand now) then ChiengMai ...Vientien and then Bangkok, right?

i think it's quite normal for the bigger country having more influence -economic and so on, to look down smaller neighbor. such as German and French looks down on Swiss. so Thailand and laos as the same.

and the Thais still use the word 'Loas' when they say to bull**** other. sorry for that but it's a fact which is painful for you.

Stop offending each other like that. Thai is nothing to look down on Laos. It sounds funny. Do you please being looked down by American, French...? And yeah, you must ask yourself why your neighbors (laos, cambodia, myanmar) don't like you so much. I dont see that problem with Sing, Mas, Indo, Phil...

Well, In Khmer Concept. it clear to call Asean nation fellow as bellow:

Cambodia-Kompuchea usually we call our self KHMER

Malaysia- We call Malaysii for people we call Malay

Philippine- Fi-li-pin

Indonesia- Indonesii (Chhvea no longer use!)

Brunei - Brunee

Singapore- Singhak Burei (The land of Lion) or Phnom Penh citizen usually call Singapore

Vietnam- Viet-nam for people sometime we call Yourn.

Thailand- Thai or Siam

Laos- Lao

Myanmar- Phumea

Anyways, it all folk!

Every Vietnamese were grown in brilliant faith: Laos & Cuba are two brothers of Vietnam. I don't hate Thailand or any country else, including USA. But If there are any ironies or offending to our brothers, we considers those ones as a enemy.

Pls stop despise any country if you want to get respectability from us.

Yoe-Daya just means descendents of Ayuthaya dynasty.. honestly most myanmars doesn't have a clue what that mean.. they call everything "thai" related "yoe-dayar" but without bad intention.. even thai style myanmar dance is named "yoe-dayar a-ka".. it's a beautiful dance by the way..
Anyway, relax there bro.. we also call you guys "thai lu-myo" or "thai a myo thar" or "thai naing-ngan".. all are very respectful.. but the word "thai" sounds not very nice in myanmar language.. i won't tell you what that is.. u might get offended once again..

I dont think I would call Thailand as a White Elephant because the phrase "White Elephant" in English language means this -

white elephant is an idiom for a valuable possession of which its owner cannot dispose and whose cost (particularly cost of upkeep) is out of proportion to its usefulness or worth.

Meaning when you refer to a project as a white elephant, it means, expensive to keep and useless.
