Good Day to all the footie fanatics of Asean Nations. I am from Malaysia and would like to congratulate all the teams for performing above expectations in the SEAgames.

As for the footballing XI, Im proud of the Malaysian tigers and a sincere thumbs-up from me for the Vietnamese team! (Was a dramatic-nail biting-breathtaking final showdown)

Its been a while since i have an idea of making a short video clip to show what the ASEAN nations has to offer in the beautiful game of Football, in conjunction with the 2010 South African World Cup.

As we all know, the eye on the world will be set on the FIFA world cup next year and it will be a good time to expose what we ASEAN can do. Lets show to the world that football does not only revolve around Europe/The Americas/Africa!

My initial idea was to shoot clips of locals in each respective nations doing what they do while having a football influence on it.

Example:-
Malaysia
Scene of the Petronas twin tower in the background and a few locals playing in the city streets / An old guy in Kelantan (a state in Malaysia) flying the Wau Bulan (A Malay type of kite with exaggerated design) with the Football logo on the Wau, etc.

We have 11 nations in ASEAN, i am confident that each nation has a unique approach to the game. The reason of this topic being created is to collect as many ideas and support to make the video, well, ASEAN. I would appreciate all footie fan's support of this idea and lets make an impact on the biggest stage of the the beautiful game called football. :)

This is not a /governmental/political/profit making/ idea and is solely for the purpose of showing the love for the game. I also take note that it will take massive amount of effort to make this idea a reality, and not just in my head. Therefore it would be great to get the views and opinion of anyone (even non ASEANs) on this idea.

Lastly, as we say it in Malaysia, Tahniah!(Congratulations) to all the SEAgames participants for the healthy competitive spirit shown!

It is a good idea, but I think you should try first with available short clips aroudn the internet (there are many) and see how we can make a good script for our own work. Let's imagine that we form a group for each country and we decide in a specific length of time for that country in the videoclip, and let's see if we can connect the story well or not.
