Which country in ASEAN has the possibility to host Olympic games in the future?

Thailand or Malaysia probably. Vietnam, maybe. Laos, definitely not- it is struggling to host the games as it is. Singapore is too small.

My vote is for Thailand...because;

1. they have world class athletes,
2. good sport infrastructures/facilities,
3. have a good experience eg:Asian games,
4. very supportive fans,
5. have a nice culture.

Second choice would be Malaysia because we used to organize Commonwealth Games 1998(2nd largest games after Olympic games), we also have good sport infrastructures/facilities,but we lack of world class athletes and supportive fans.

definitely not Thailand. I think Vietnam has a better chance.
We're talking about at least 15 years from now.
And I'm sure that if Thailand still have the same management in sports like this Vietnam will dominate us in the future for sure.

I think Thai and Malaysia would be best choices thanks to their experience and capacity. Singapore is quite good in standards but too small at size. Indonesia is a bit risky. Vietnam is still in poor standards. Others should not be counted yet.

I think Indonesia has the ability to host the Olympic games. Brazil can be the host for Olympics games on 2016, and why not Indonesia?

And I heard that Brazil is going to host a very vibrant and noisy games and a successful one if Rio is able to tackle it's crime , transportation and acomodation problems.

Last Olympics held in beijing (Asia), so the next time it come to Asia will be in the next 20 years.. so Indonesia can be the host in 2024 maybe

Indonesia's just not about Jakarta, we have Palembang(as one of 4 city in Indonesia where wil be the host for SEA GAMES 2011), Pekanbaru(host for National Sports Week 2012), and Balikpapan. It means that there will be many more construction and development on Indonesia before that time.

1) Malaysia (Exprience in hosting Commonwealth Games one of major sports event in the world)

2) Thailand (Agree with Kuwe KL points)

3) Singapore (The most advance country around Asean it should be no problem for them)

I think Thailand. because Thailand has experience.
Thailand hosted Asian Games 4 times,1st Asian Indoor Games,1st Asian Martial Art Games ,and hosted the Universiade.

But,Thailand has to resolve internal political conflict first.

However, Singapore will be a host for the Youth Olympic in 2010.

If Vietnam succeeds in hosting Asian Beach Games in 2016 and the Asian Games (ASIAD) in 2019 (after the success of hosting SEA Games and Asian Indoor Games), then it will be a good time to bid for Olympic Games.

However, to make it better for ASEAN, the best idea is a co-bosted Olympic Games by the fourth powers of sports in the region: Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia (and Singapore?).

Totally agree with this. Malaysia and Thailand has 1- the capacity to organize a games that big and 2- they have the money to spend. The problem I have with Indonesia is the security risk. Us in the Philippines, definitely not although we are going to be hosting Asian Beach Games in 2014 in Boracay though. We just dont have the money to host it.
