I don't think within some years there will be an ASEAN player capable of making an impression in EPL. Maybe around 7 years later, I think.

Back to history, there were 2 players who made their influence in the European football history. The first one was Paulino Alcántara, a Phillipino, within the period of 1912-1927 he scored 356 goals in 357 matches for FC Barcelona, and is still considered the greatest Barcelona's player of all time.

The second one is quite temporary, Fandi Ahmad, he was among the best players of Groningen FC, a club in the football league of the Netherland.

EPL means physical,physical,physical...

to be an EPL player it is really really difficult...
of course you can join EPL team..but you are not promised to play..

but to be the owner(eg:thaksin) or the sponsors(eg:air asia,proton/lotus)

you are most welcomed...

errmmm i think better we start with J league or A league first like what Suttee is doing now.. in malaysia, i would suggest kyril muhymin of kedah FC.. he should be part of malaysia sea games if not because of the injury.. another promising striker is Shakir Ali, our young player age 20..

1 - Winothai ( Thailand ) - a Belgian club, I didnt remember
2 - Dangda ( Thailand ) - ManCity ( just practisin )
3 - Sutte ( Thailand )
4 - Lee Nguyen ( vie ) - PSV Edihoven
5 - Lee Cong Vinh (vie) - a club in Portuguese premier league , didnt remember
6 - Kiatisuk ( Thai ) - a long long time ago, but just for a few months ?>??

Hey, Lee Nguyễn has American nationality, he even played for the U.S national team. Lee also played as official player in PSV Edihoven before starting his career in his old homeland (Vietnam) in HAGL club.

I say this because most countries in this region can't afford to has a professional league of their own(such as Laos,Timor,Cambodia).

Great idea but not possible.

The 1st reason is most countries can't afford for their team to travel in Asean to play a league.

2nd reason : If there were stars in those team, other powerful clubs in the region will sign contracts with them, rather than let them play in a normal league.

Basically, it's an economic problem.
