I come from Thailand 'Land of Smile' and I like to visit Indonesia. My favourite sports are Swimming, Tennis, Football, Volleyball. I think Vietnam will win the overall gold medal, but I wish Thailand can beat Vietnam in the last day !

I'm Vietnamese, 25 years old and studying in Europe. Football and fighting art are among my interest. Overally, I think VN can finish as the runner up. But we are willing to sacrifice a place in top 3 in exchange for the gold medal men football.

I am from Vietnam but resided in England for 6 years now.
Thailand would stay on top of medal tally followed by Vietnam or malaysia like previous sea games
Indonesia will take gold medal in men volleyball, Thailand takes gold in women volleyball ( no dout as they are just won asian cup, gotta admit that beat china in a final match is a brilliant job done by Thai girls)
Vietnam will take gold in men football as they seem 2 b the strongest among 4 teams in semi final, gold medalist in women football is a strong competition between Viet girls and thai girls ( but Myanmar still has some chance in this cetegory though!).

The truth is that I'm not really interested in any specific sports. (juz like watching tennis and football games) My purpose of joining this 4rum is to support my beloved team and to have chance getting more knowledge about culture of ASEAN as well as maintain our long-last relationships :)
About the overall champion, I think Thailand is on the top of candidates...but my heart always belongs to Vietnam. :)
From the Pearl of the Orient: Philippines. 29 yo Not interested in a particular sport in the SEA Games, but I love surfing, underwater hockey, sailing (yachting), and hot air ballooning.

just curious, what's underwater hockey? I think the game is much more slower in comparison to ice hockey...... BTW, don't bring your hot air balloon near the archery competition or near the shooting range :)

It's a non-contact sport in which two teams compete to manoeuvre apuck across the bottom of a swimming pool into goals.
It's underwater hockey

To better explain Underwater Hockey -
The Philippines is the first country in Asia to play underwater hockey as well as underwater rugby. With other expatriates, we also introduced Underwater Hockey to Singapore and they are good players as well! I visited them back in 2007. I used to play Underwater Hockey a few years ago. :) I also surf as well and tried sailing and hot air ballooning. :)
This is the video when we went hot air ballooning in Clark this year-
thanks my man NHP, sounds like an ideal sport for fishes :)
that too Ilovesports (is sex a sport? )

UW Hockey is not for everyone though, it is a very mental sport as you have to maneuver from all directions plus you also have to make sure you have enough air while underwater! :) It is a very challenging sport which was started by British Navy back in the 50s so that they can do practice during winter. The sport is played in a lot of European countries, some countries in South America, Australia, US.Turkey, South Africa, Philippines, Canada, Singapore and the US. :)
Hi you guys, I'm from BKK Thailand, I used to work in Vientiane for 5 years I love Laos so much. Football is my best favourite sport and also golf and Badminton. Thailand or Vietnam have chance to be top in gold medal.
I am from Vietnam, and was born in the heart of Mekong Delta, where I can row upstream to visit Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, and Myanmar (if there is no border limit). :D
I have a Lao friend who is volunteering for this SEA Games and another who perform in the opening ceremony. I really love to visit Vientiane in the near future.
By the way, you all are welcome to Mekong Delta too. ^^

I am Lao perform the owner of house Welcome all people to Laos and hope you enjoy with the sea games in Laos ah almost forget I like all sports in these sea games
I'm Vietnamese. I like playing, watching, reading news about football. I'm a fan of Manchester United and Vietnam. I think the asean's player should see and learn the way that Premier League's player play football. There are any matches in this tournament that players are rude. Example, the match between VN and Malaysia. I hope they are more fair play and professional. I wish in the near future, some teams like Thailand, VN, Indonesia and Singapore become big teams in asia. Hope all have a good day!
From Singapura, 28, male, love football and football only but like other sports. I'm a firm believer in ASEAN unity cos that's the only way we can conquer the world.
I believe sports is a good way to forge eternal friendships and not to cause enmity between neighbours. Healthy competition for a healthy union. Cheers all! May the best country win this SEA Games...
