Greeting ASEAN football fanatic!

Would you welcome Australia joining South East Asia? Why and why not?

Personally, i would love to see Australia in SE tournaments.

Reason #1, they're a well established country and they can represent ASEAN in many ways.

Reason #2, competing with higher level opponents will help ASEAN nations get better and soon will help us catching up with the rest of the world.

Let me hear what you think folks!

I appreciate it if Australia joins AFF. The immediate outcomes will be matches with the goals equal to score in a table tennis match. But in long term, we'll benefit from it as we will try our best to reduce the gap!

I think Thailand, Vietnam & Singapore can certainly compete with Australia. It will not be long before ASEAN countries can catch up with the rest of the world. I believe it!

It would be nice if Australia becomes part of ASEAN but if I am not mistaken Indonesia blocked Australia's application for membership several times.

I dont have a clear clue why they dont, Malaysians blocked Australia as well - One of the articles I could find on this - http://www.theage.com.au/articles/2004/06/28/1088392605713.html

I have read another article which was more detailed than that where Indonesia flatly blocked Australia's efforts to join ASEAN which is kinda a little bit bad because Australia sets aside A LOT of money in their national budget just for aid to Indonesia. I couldn't find that article unfortunately.

In my opinion, we should improve our performance and standard rather than inviting Australia to compete in SEA GAMES. Australia is located in Australia and Oceania Continetal. It's not ASEAN.

I respect your opinions, I think this thread shows that many Asians today are still not open to the world. If you think the Australia is better than us and we shouldn't play them. That's not a good mentality...YOU WONT BEAT THEM UNTIL YOU GIVE YOURSELF A CHANCE! to play them.

Say chances of Cambodia becoming a Seagame champion this year is very unlikely, but if they dont participate in the tournament, they will never be a champion. No matter what it takes, you should give yourself a chance first!

I say bring on the Aussies... smile

Seagame isn't in Fifa list, so Australia doesn't need to join. But, in future, I think Australia will look for it. So if full of nation join seagame football, there will be 12 team. Well, 3 state with 1st and 2nd of Group will go to the 2nd round. The best 3rd in Group go to, it will more fun.. hihi

did Aussie have show their interest to join sea game?Aussie level is far different than any country in Asean though..i don't feel they have interest to join sea game..

i personally not agree with this idea..it just make Sea game not unique when the outsider come and join this tournament..i think most Asean country also have participate in many world tournament right?i think it should be enough for those athelete to have some experience and compete in world level..Sea game is just for Asean country..it better for Asean country to use the experience that they get when compete in other world tournament to improve themself rather than invite the outsider country to join this tournament..

and one more ,i'm not sure if the performance level of Asean country in overall sport will increase by this invitation..it might kill the competition and chance for new athlete to bright since one country will dominate the tournament..well just my assumption..i can't tell that my assumption could be right..just possibility..maybe it would be ok to invite the country that have little high performance than Asean country..or at least in the same level with thailand to increase competition..invite country that have far more ability than overall Asean country might kill competition

In my perspective, we should let other countries participating in the Sea Game.  I believe that the players can improve their playing skills tremendously by competing with challenging opponents.  However, there should be an exception to the rule.  Since this is a Sea Game, only Asian countries are allow to host the event.

How was it possible, I asked ugg bailey boots, to walk for an hour through the woods and see nothing worthy of note? I who cannot see find hundreds of things to interest me through mere touch. I feel the delicate symmetry of a leaf. I pass my UGG bailey button 5803 boots lovingly about the smooth skin of a silver birch, or the rough shaggy bark of a pine. In spring I touch the branches of trees hopefully in search of a bud, the first sign of bailey button UGG awakening Nature after her winter's sleep. I feel the delightful, velvety texture of a flower, and discover its remarkable convolutions; and something of the miracle of Nature is revealed to ugg classic cardy. Occasionally, if I am very fortunate, I place my hand gently in a small tree and feel the happy quiver of a bird in full song. I am delighted to have the cool waters of a brook rush classic cardy UGG Boots through my open fingers. To me a lush carpet of pine needles or spongy grass is more welcome than the most luxurious Persian rug. To me the pageant of seasons is a thrilling and unending UGG classic cardy Boots, the action of which streams through my finger tips. At times my heart cries out with longing to see all these things. If I can get so much pleasure from mere touch Cheap UGG cardy Boots, how much more beauty must be revealed by sight. Yet, those who have eyes apparently see little. The panorama of color and action fill the world is taken for granted. It is human, ugg classic tall, to appreciate little that which we have and to long for that which we have not, but it is a great pity that in the world of light and the gift of sight is used only as a mere convenience UGG classic tall Boots rather than as a means of adding fullness to life. The husband agreed. So each of them went to a separate room in the house and thought of the things that annoyed ugg 5815 boots about the other. They thought about this question for the rest of the day and wrote down what they came up with. In life, there are enough times when we are ugg classic short, depressed and annoyed. CF
