Bonjour Vietnam

Raconte moi ta maison, ta rue, racontes moi cet inconnu,

(Source: HoangPhu.Vn)

Just for relaxing. Hope you guys like it :)

Nice song. I've listened several times, even I don't understand the meaning. It's so different which the language we're speaking in the family.

Thanks so much

:) U R welcome!

Bonjour Vietnam (English Version) - Watch Video Clip.

Tell me all about this name, that is difficult to say.
It was given me the day I was born.

Want to know about the stories of the empire of old.
My eyes say more of me than what you dare to say.

All I know of you is all the sights of war.
A film by Coppola, the helicopter's roar.

One day I'll touch your soil.
One day I'll finally know my soul.
One day I'll come to you.
To say hello... Vietnam.

Tell me all about my colour, my hair and my little feet
That have carried me every mile of the way.

Want to see your house, your streets. Show me all I do not know.
Wooden sampans, floating markets, light of gold.

All I know of you is the sights of war.
A film by Coppola, the helicopter's roar.

One day I'll touch your soil.
One day I'll finally know my soul.
One day I'll come to you.
To say hello... Vietnam.

And Buddha’s made of stone watch over me
My dreams they lead me through the fields of rice
In prayer, in the light…I see my kin
I touch my tree, my roots,my begin

One day I'll touch your soil.
One day I'll finally know my soul.
One day I'll come to you.
To say hello... Vietnam.

One day I’ll walk your soil
One day I’ll finally know my soul
One day I’ll come to you
To say hello…Vietnam
To say hello…Vietnam
To say xin chào…Vietnam

It's different with the standard French, like Belgian French, Canadian French. It's also different with the standard French. I don't know, it's just the language we speak at home. I don't know how to write smile.gif?

Well, I don't learn French, so that's the reason why I just understand a little bit what she sings. I just like her voice. It's so nice and I can hear and get the main point. That's all. Like Chinese Vietnamese, they can speak well, but they can't write because they didn't learn abt it

Sure, I also like some Korean singers...even when I probably cannot understand the lyric. But their voice and melody r beautiful.  :)
Anyway, this song is so nice. The pity is that there is no Vietnamese version of this song. :(

No need. I don't wanna listen the Vietnamese version. It's not good because we can't translate the meaning to Vietnamese. It's really hard. My grandmom understand and she tell us the meaning of this song. It's better. Moreover, I understand well based on the English version smile

I think that I should take a French course to learn abt my far - language :)

To me, it's a need. Today, there r not many Vietnamese songs having the meaningful meaning... some of them make me get sick. ashamed Vietnamese version of this song can be easily spread through :)

I also intend to attend a French class (which I should do when I had chance to choose my 2nd language at school, but I chose Spanish :'( )

well, I didn't listen Vietnamese song nowadays. It look like "Market song", I feel terrible.....

Is it hard? For me, I think French 's easier to speak than English because I've already spoken at home. Spanish's more popular nowadays. It has the big speaking group in the world, especially in Latin American

Ur rite ! "market music". But there r still some good vnese songs... (thank god!) most them r the old song recorded by other young singers in other ways... When going to the karaoke, my friends usually laugh at me cause I almost cannot sing any songs in the new list (I even don't know them =.=)

Spanish is kinda easy for u to learn when u've already known English. Many words of them written almost in the same way of English (hotel,restaurante,hospital,universidad...) :D my friend emigrated to America. And she said that she also had to study Spanish :)

Well, the youth singer? Most of them sings very bad. I don't wanna spend time to listen anymore.

Spanish's the 2nd popular language in the US, most of my relatives're living there and they have to meet Spanish speaker everyday. But I prefer to learn French. It's the nice language and also look like English. What a pity, my far-relative emigrated to Vietnam and then they're trying to come another country such as America.

Please gimme the definition of "nói năng cho đàng hoàng"? Did I hurt u on my word? Totally no.

Why should we use English? Because most of people're not from Vietnam, they don't know Vietnamese, ok?

I don't think they are impolite while communicating in English here. What do you think when someone use Thai or Chinese here? Then you will take time to translate by google translation tool?

Who is polite or impolite I bet you know.

OK, it's really hard to change the habit. It's up to u and nobody wanna talk with u more because they don't know what u're talking abt. And throw the bull**** thinking abt English away ur mind. Sorry, hoangphu and I just know a little bit English, but we try to speak as much as possible, to make sure that some one can understand what we talk. Better than nothing. At least, better than u.

OK?

Dạ vâng, từ nay tớ không dám xài tiếng Việt ở đây nữa, tớ thấy ai xài tiếng Việt là tớ góp ý ngay giống bạn:
"Be polite. Please use English" (NHP says)
Vui lòng lịch sự, xin dùng tiếng Anh" (NHP nói)
Ok, không cãi nữa.

Highlight yes, from now I do not dare spend more Vietnamese here, I see someone spend a Vietnamese I just like your comments:
"Be polite. Please use Tiếng Việt (NHP says)
Vui lòng lịch sự, xin dùng tiếng Anh" (NHP nói)
Ok, no more controversy.

not good? I respect somebody if they respect each other. It's very easy to write English, the basic sentence 's ok. Better than nothing. Did I hurt someone? Totally no, but they do it - to attack me. Do u think that it'll be hard for foreigner to translate from Vietnamese to English or their language?

Remember that Vietnamese have the complex grammar and vocabulary and it'll be hard to translate the meaning to the other language. OK?
