every single member of Vietnamese football team has put forth their efforts and give more than 100% every match trying to win. I don't think anyone would be happy if we "let" Cambodia win just to avoid Thailand later on.

Vietnam would be happy to kill off Thailand then to kill Cambodia for its final match. It's not because VN wants to help Cambodia but because it's better to kill Thailand softly rather than facing them.
This is too naive. You don't even know yet how much Thai will win over Timor. If Thai win more than 4-0, Vietnam will be in 2nd place NOT Thai. And I'm sure they will try to win as many goals as possible to avoid this silly tactic from Vietnam or Cambodia.
So even if Vietnam lose to Cambodia and Thai lose to Malay, we must see which team has better goal. From the current statistic, Thai has more advantage over Vietnam because they can win Timor for 3-0 and become 1st seed in the group already.
